Q: What about instrument rentals?
A:Instruments are available through the district—the current cost is $78 maintenance fee per school year. SEND NO MONEY NOW. More information will be sent to you by your building's music teacher in the fall.
Q: Do students receive a grade for music lessons?

Q: When do lessons begin?
A: Music lessons begin the middle of September of the following school year.
Q: What if my child wants to start learning their instrument over the summer?
A: If your child is interested in starting lessons over the summer, they are able to sign up for the Summer Music program during the months of July through August for a nominal fee. Information is currently on the district website. For more information about the Summer Music Program, please use the link below. All student who participate in the Summer Music Program are given their first choice instrument, pending percussion auditions. They can find more information about it here:
Q: What if my child wishes to learn percussion?
A: If your child is interested in learning to play the percussion instruments, please understand that they will be responsible for learning the snare drum, bass drum, cymbals, triangle, mallet percussion, and other auxiliary instruments. Because percussion is a popular choice, depending on the enrollment size or interest in percussion, your child may be asked to try a short rhythmic screening audition. This will include concepts that they have learned about already in their General Music class, and does not guarantee that the child will be accepted for this instrument.
