One way you can support your child's school experience is through volunteering with PTA.  Many volunteer positions involve only a little time, and the rewards are great!  Take a look below and mark all that interest you!

Box Tops:  help to collect and prepare Box Tops for submission twice yearly, and track earnings online.
Cafeteria: assist the students at lunch by opening milk cartons, juice boxes, passing out straws, etc.
Carnival: get involved right away by assisting at this year’s Fall Carnival fundraiser on Friday, September 27th.  This is a fun way to help out with many different ways to be involved!
Auction for Fall Carnival (mark any of interest):
Contests/Cultural Arts: we have an urgent need for a chairperson!  Assist with the three state wide contests--Safety Poster, Citizenship Essay, and Reflections Arts competitions (fall months); schedule a program/performance to broaden children’s appreciation of art and culture (spring).
Faculty and Staff Appreciation: a Towne Acres favorite!  Help to show our appreciation to the faculty and staff by providing an item for monthly luncheons and other special recognition events.
Family Engagement: this committee works closely with our parent and family volunteers to help meet the needs of the school and the PTA.
Field Day: always a wonderful conclusion to a great school year! The PTA and our teachers put on this fun event in May and could use your help.
Green and Clean: help to beautify the school grounds and assist in environmental programs for the students.
Leveled Library:  assist with labeling and organizing books for our school’s Leveled Library.
Pastries with Parents: help prepare for our annual family breakfast in November by providing items, setting up, serving, and crowd management.
Newsletter: one of our most important modes of communication with our TA families. We are in urgent need of a leader for this monthly PTA publication!
Reading: assist with Towne Criers, our monthly reading incentive program.
Room Parents: this position requires a year-long commitment and involves assisting with classroom celebrations and other activities.  You will also be asked to call parents for help with working carnival booths and Field Day events. Room Parent Interest Forms were already sent home in each child’s folder.
Scholarship: Assist with the selection of the recipient of our annual Towne Acres PTA Scholarship which goes to a former Towne Acres student who is a graduating senior at Science Hill High School.
Science:  Help to coordinate our annual STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) day activities and help with the science fair.
Spirit: assist by promoting school spirit and help with the sale of Towne Acres spirit merchandise.
Yearbook: assist in photographing those unforgettable moments on film throughout the year and uploading submitted photos from email to the yearbook software.
