I WANT THE MEATS. HOW DOES THIS WORK?
The lowdown:
    After we take your deposit, we grow your piggy until he reaches market weight. Supply varies with the season, but we can usually get your meat to you within a couple months of placing your deposit.
       
    We charge $3.25 per pound of LIVE weight of Mr. Hawgie when he arrives at the butcher's scales. This price includes processing fees and delivery to most patches of Central and Eastern Ohio. Our piggies usually go to market weighing between 260-280 pounds, but you won't get all of that back in dinner. Piggies lose about 30 percent of that weight when the butcher removes organs and blood and stuff, and then they lose a smaller percentage more when the butcher trims fat and bones.
SPEAK NON-FARMER
A larger 280-pound hog would run you $450 for about 70-80 pounds of packaged meat and lard.
