City Nature Challenge is a 4-day community science event dedicated to documentation of local urban wildlife.

Participants will document wildlife on their tours around the Rancho and share their findings on the app, iNaturalist.

Cities will compete for who can document the most observations, find the most species, and get the most participants involved.

Notice to Visitors

RLC:

All outdoor spaces are open. The courtyard and the ground level of the adobe home is open and there is a one way path of travel through the home. Service animals are welcome, but please leave your pets at home. If you are experiencing symptoms of illness, including cough or fever, please return when you are well. Cover your sneeze or cough

Restrooms are open and located next to the Visitor Center.

iNaturalist Information:

Consider downloading the iNaturalist app before your City Nature Challenge Tour. iNaturalist is a platform for community scientists to come together to document wildlife observations which will be checked by experts.
