TAKE ONE PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

Hello and Welcome to Asian Culture & Media Alliance! As a 501(3)(c) nonprofit media arts advocacy organization, ACMA's mission is to build better equity, inclusion and diversity for our AANHPI community through the power of media arts, specifically film, television and new media.

To help achieve this goal, one of ACMA's core objectives is to educate, support and inspire our next generation of aspiring AANHPI filmmakers ages 16-25 through our Take One vocational Media Arts training & Internship program. We are inclusive to supporting other BIPOC participants as well who are interested in learning about our AANHPI cultures.

Take One offers passionate, driven and committed individuals an alternative learning experience to traditionally offered academic film & media arts programs by providing an accelerated approach to professional vocational media skills learning, as well as personal development & mentorship opportunities.

Take One is comprised of a comprehensive academic and practical knowledge curriculum that includes individual and class assignments and projects to enforce the essential technical and creative disciplines necessary to advance in the film & television industry.

What makes Take One different from other film media arts programs? Our AANHPI diaspora is one of the fastest growing and most diverse groups in the US; yet, it remains one of the most marginalized and even invisible voices in media arts, especially in film & television. Today, only 6% of Hollywood’s working industry professionals identify as AANHPI descent.

Effective educational and vocational youth programs that can harvest and accelerate our aspiring AANHPI creators and filmmakers are essential in cultivating our diverse voices and talents. Only then can we truly uplift our community and create real change in eliminating the historical archetypes often promoted through false Hollywood narrative’s, prejudice and even ignorance and hate still found in our society.

If you're a passionate, goal driven individual who not only shares an intense interest in learning filmmaking but also how to apply the power of film arts in building better diversity and equity for our AANHPI community through authentic stories and narratives, then start your rewarding journey at Take One!
