The KQBA is happy to announce the 2023 Kentucky Individual Championship (KIC)! We will be hosting the tournament at Ballard High School (6000 Brownsboro Rd., Louisville, Ky 40222) on May 13th.

The tournament will have an opening meeting at 8:45 AM and play will start promptly at 9 AM.

Format
We will be using the 2022 SCOBOL individual set. This is a tossup only set designed for individuals.

The tournament will consist of several preliminary rounds. These rooms will be randomly sorted to start with and will then start to be sorted based on performances within the room. After preliminary rounds, playoff rounds will see a diminishing field for each round in contention for the finals. Students eliminated from contention are welcomed and encouraged to either keep playing the questions in a non-competitive room or to stay and watch the later rounds. Full details about the tournament will be decided once we determine the size of our field.

Payments can be made in person (preferred method) or mailed to 8019 Broadfern Dr., Louisville, Ky, 40291. The tournament will cost $30 for each individual. Please make checks out to the KQBA.
