Celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day 2023 by joining us on Monday, October 9 from 10am to 12pm, helping neighborhood volunteers clean-up trash and learning about the Piney Branch valley. Help us pickup Petworth's part of Rock Creek Park! Learn how indigenous peoples once used the valley as a quarry and how today volunteers with the Rock Creek Songbirds Project and others are helping to restore the wetland and native trees.
All are welcome. This is a family event. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Where: Picnic Pavilion 29 next to the Piney Branch Parkway below the 16th Street Bridge
- When: Monday, October 9 from 10am to 12pm
- Pizza will be delivered at 12pm
Those planning to help with clean-up, please bring closed-toe shoes and garden gloves, if you have them.

Celebre el Día de los Pueblos Indígenas 2023 uniéndose a nosotros el lunes 9 de octubre de 10 a. m. a 12 p. m., ayudando a los voluntarios del vecindario a limpiar la basura y aprendiendo sobre el valle de Piney Branch. ¡Ayúdanos a recoger la parte de Petworth del Rock Creek Park!
