Habitat Texas - Capitol Build 2020
Habitat for Humanity Texas has been monitoring reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and we have decided to cancel the 2020 Day at the Dome/Capitol Build which would have been the morning of March 25th. In effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, this annual day of advocacy is officially cancelled. Our apologies to anyone eager to volunteer and help spread awareness for housing in Texas, but If you would like to be prepared to advocate on behalf of housing, sign up for our Advocacy Alerts at habitattexas.org/advocate/.

There are no suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Travis County. If this were to happen, Habitat Texas would notify our community members and affiliates, but your best source of information is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (cdc.gov). As a community member, your best course of action is to continue washing your hands, refrain from touching your face, and to be wary of large gatherings. Above all, do not panic!

Is housing still a priority issue for you? There are plenty of things you can do from the safety of your home! You can donate to our cause, tweet (respectfully) in concern, and learn about the Bootstrap Loan program which enables our efforts. When things finally start to clear away outside, the most important thing you can do is to volunteer with your local habitat! Below are the links for everything mentioned.

Donate at habitattexas.org/give/
Volunteer at habitattexas.org/find-your-local-affiliate/
Tweet to @HabitatTexas (works on Instagram and Facebook too!)
Learn about Bootstrap loans at www.tdhca.state.tx.us/oci/bootstrap.htm

In the meantime, stay home, healthy, and safe. And don’t forget to wash your hands!
