The Big Walk 2022 Entry Form - Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Big Walk 2022!

Our volunteers are at the heart of the event, ensuring that the day runs smoothly and making it the best possible experience for our walkers and runners.

The Big Walk 2022 (sheffield.ac.uk/big-walk) is a sponsored walk taking place on Friday 24th June 2022, fundraising for Genetic Disease Research at the University of Sheffield. There are two route options - 30km from Edale and 50km from Hope - winding through the Peak District and returning to the University Arms for a well-deserved rest & refreshments.

In order to support all of the participants, a number of volunteers are required to help out on the day.

Please complete this form to register as a volunteer. All of your answers will be taken into consideration when allocating you a volunteer role. We will start allocating roles early May and you will receive an email once your role has been allocated.

There will be a number of different roles for volunteers. Some will take place on campus/in Sheffield: loading participants onto shuttle buses from the Octagon or at the start line at Hope/Edale, or welcoming walkers over the finish line at the Uni Arms. Other roles will require being out on the route in the Peak District as a marshal - checking people in, handing out water/snacks. We will allocate roles based on your answers given in this form.

You may find it useful to read the events Terms & Conditions which contains more information about the event: www.sheffield.ac.uk/giving/fundraise/big-walk/terms-and-conditions.

Thank you so much for your interest in being a volunteer for The Big Walk 2022 - you'll be playing a really important role in supporting our walkers and runners and making sure the event runs smoothly.

If you have any questions please email the Big Walk team at giving@sheffield.ac.uk or call Sarah Barnes, Fundraising Officer on 0114 222 5598.
