This year’s Peter Piper Pizza Sun Bowl Punt, Pass and Kick Competition will be held at the Sun Bowl Stadium, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023,
• 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
rain or shine. The competition is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 6 - 15. Boys and girls will compete separately. Sign-up at any Peter Piper Pizza in El Paso by scanning the table tent QR Code advertisement.
The five age classifications, based on the child's age as of 12/31/23 at 11:59 PM, are as follows:

6-7 years old, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15.
RULES OF THE COMPETITION:
ELIGIBILITY:
1.
There is no charge to participate in the Peter Piper Pizza Sun Bowl Punt, Pass and Kick Competition.
2.
All participants must submit a signed parental waiver form. Bring the form with you or sign up at the stadium on that day. There will be forms available when you arrive or can be printed off our website at
www.sunbowl.org/events/punt_pass_kick .
3.
All participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate at time of registration at the event.
SCORING/COMPETING:
1.
Each participant will receive only one punt, one pass and one kick as part of his/her competition.
2.
Scores are based on distance as well as accuracy. Example: If a participant passes the ball 100 feet, but the ball lands 30 feet away from a designated line, the final score would be 70 feet. Scores are based on exact feet and inches (partial inches are rounded to nearest inch).
3.
A participant's score is the cumulative total for the three individual events. Example: Scores of 40 for punting, 35 for kicking and 45 for passing would result in the final score being 120.
4.
If a participant goes over a designated foul line prior to, before releasing or making contact with the ball, he or she will be penalized 5 feet. Exception: When place kicking, a participant may go over the line without penalty provided the tee is placed on or behind the line.
5.
No violation if the kicking tee is kicked during the kick.
6.
Distances of each attempt will be marked at the spot the ball first strikes the ground.
REGULATIONS:
1.
No football, cleats or turf shoes are allowed. No bare feet are allowed. Gym shoes (soft shoe) only. Failure of this rule will result in disqualification of the participant.
2.
All equipment needed for this competition, other than shoes, will be provided. Participants may not use their own equipment.
3.
Participants who are 6-7 years old use a WILSON PEEWEE football. The 8-9 and 10-11 participants use a WILSON JUNIOR football. Participants who are 12-15 use a WILSON INTERMEDIATE football.
WINNERS:
1.
The top finisher in each of the boys' and girls’ divisions from the five age brackets is the one with the top final score at the end of the competition
PRIZES:
1.
The first 150 participants to check-in day of the event will receive a free t-shirt, sizes are limited.
2.
The top three finishers in each of the boys’ and girls’ division from the five age brackets will receive a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place medal
3.
The first-place finisher in each of the boys’ and girls’ division from the five age brackets will be recognized as a group in the Sun Bowl Thanksgiving Day Parade (November 23, 2023).
4.
The first-place finisher in each of the boys’ and girls’ division from the five age brackets will receive Two (2) End Zone section tickets to the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game and get recognized at the game on December 29, 2023.
