The Mira Vista PTA financially supports and could support a variety of programs, we would like to survey the community to determine which of these programs you most value, this is simply a way for the PTA Board to gauge interest so we know which current or future programs should be prioritized.
Current and Potential Programs the PTA Funds:
Enrichment
Afterschool programming: enrichment programming alongside the afterschool program with Ms Little, including Junior Center for Arts and Science
Art Education: K-5 visual arts with Ms Lisa every other week
Music Program: recorder program for all 3rd graders
Garden Program: school-wide upper-garden education, students attend every other week
Playworks: school-wide program to improve social emotional skill through play: https://www.playworks.org/
Nature Bridge: overnight camp for all 4th graders: https://naturebridge.org/
Other school funding
Fall Festival: community-wide event in the fall with games, food and booths
General School events: funding for events like movies, multicultural picnic, etc.
Field Trips and Assemblies: payment for busses or to bring in programming
Teacher Grants: stipend for all teachers to pay for supplies or programs
Hospitality and Teacher Appreciation: funding teacher lunches, gifts and other improvements
