Spring Recess Travel Form for March 19-April 3, 2022

SPRING RECESS BEGINS: 5:30 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022.

Families can make plans to pick-up their child between 5:30-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 18.
Darrow will assist in departing transportation 6:00-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19.
All Students must be off campus by 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19.

All students may return to campus between 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3.
Darrow will assist in returning transportation 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3.
All students are required to return to campus no later than 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 4. (Students have afternoon commitments.)

Departing prior to the listed departure times will not be allowed. Arriving after the listed arrival times will not be allowed. If international flight itineraries make these departure or arrival times impossible, the student should depart late or arrive early to campus so that they do not miss school. If this requires that your child spend an additional evening on campus, please contact the Dean’s Office for more information. International students who are not planning to return home during a recess may be invited to stay at the home of an American student. Students who need assistance with arrangements should speak with the Dean of Students Office several weeks before the beginning of the recess.
The dormitories will be closed during this vacation period. Families are responsible for arrangements for students during these periods. The earliest departure shown above is the earliest time that a student can leave the school campus; when booking flights, allow sufficient time to get to the airport and go through the security lines. We encourage families to make vacation travel plans well in advance so that students do not have to leave school early or return late because of flight schedules.

A parent or guardian must submit this form by Friday, March 4, to avoid a late fee.

JFK International Airport, NYC (JFK is roughly a 3 hour drive to Darrrow School. When possible, please book flights through Albany International. If transportation assistance is requested through Darrow for JFK, a private car service is subcontracted at costs starting at $500.)

Darrow bus to Wassaic (Metro North Rail) departing Saturday, March 26, at 8:45 a.m. for the 10:15 a.m. train, arriving Grand Central Station (NYC) at 12:46 p.m. (MTA/MNR schedule subject to changes. Please double-check times before you purchase tickets.)
