PARENT/GUARDIAN EXPECTATIONS
Tomball Star Academy Early College High School will provide a rigorous, supportive learning environment that blends high school and the first two years of college. Self-determination and personal independence in a public school can only exist when all students, parents and staff share a set of values and standards and work diligently to honor them both.
As a Tomball Star Academy parent I will adhere to the following guidelines to help my student by successful:
● Attendance is very important. Please ensure your student is in school unless he/she is ill.
● Provide daily time (two to three hours) for your student to do their homework without other responsibilities
or distractions.
● Check your student’s grades online regularly and provide assistance or communication concerns to a
Tomball Star Academy teacher, counselor or administrator if he/she is having difficulty.
● Understand that your student will participate in character development each year they attend Tomball Star
Academy.
● Be available for conferences as needed.
● Your student will need access to the internet to do assignments.
● Tomball Star Academy students will be exposed to college materials. Censoring will not be part of your
student’s curriculum.
● Support your student by attending evening events and volunteering to help when possible.
Lack of improvement or growth may result in a student losing his/her placement at Tomball Star Academy. I agree to provide the necessary supports, as described, to ensure my student’s success. I understand that once my student enrolls at Tomball Star Academy, they are not eligible to transfer to another school in the district until the end of the semester.
