STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
Tomball Star Academy Early College High School will provide a rigorous, supportive learning environment that blends high school and the first two years of college.  Self-determination and personal independence in a public school can only exist when all students, parents and staff share a set of values and standards and work diligently to honor them both.

Tomball Star Academy students are expected to:
  • Commit to being seated and prepared to learn at the assigned start time of each class, tardiness will result in missed knowledge and disciplinary action.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance in keeping with Tomball Independent School District and Lone Star College Tomball guidelines, ninety-five percent or better.
  • Abide by all policies in the Tomball ISD Student Handbook including the Code of Conduct and Dress Code.
  • Understand that your student will participate in character development each year they attend Tomball Star Academy.
  • Behave maturely, safely and respectfully in all school and community environments. Cooperate with Tomball Star Academy staff, Lone Star College Tomball staff, Service Partners, visitors and peers at all times.
  • Agree to stay at Tomball Star Academy for one full semester and understand they are not eligible to transfer to another school in the district until the end of the semester.

PARENT/GUARDIAN EXPECTATIONS
Tomball Star Academy Early College High School will provide a rigorous, supportive learning environment that blends high school and the first two years of college. As a Tomball Star Academy parent I will adhere to the following guidelines to help my student by successful:

Attendance is very important. Please ensure your student is in school unless he/she is ill.
Provide daily time (two to three hours) for your student to do their homework without other responsibilities
        or distractions.
Check your student’s grades online regularly and provide assistance or communication concerns to a
        Tomball Star Academy teacher, counselor or administrator if he/she is having difficulty.
Understand that your student will participate in character development each year they attend Tomball Star
        Academy.
Be available for conferences as needed.
Your student will need access to the internet to do assignments.
Tomball Star Academy students will be exposed to college materials. Censoring will not be part of your
        student’s curriculum.
Support your student by attending evening events and volunteering to help when possible.

Lack of improvement or growth may result in a student losing his/her placement at Tomball Star Academy. I agree to provide the necessary supports, as described, to ensure my student’s success. I understand that once my student enrolls at Tomball Star Academy, they are not eligible to transfer to another school in the district until the end of the semester.
