SANCTUARY: APPROACH TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – A Guide for Churches
The Sanctuary program is a theologically informed approach to domestic or family violence which aims to equip churches to better support victims/survivors of domestic abuse. The workshop examines the various aspects of domestic violence including:
• Forms of abuse, incidence and prevalence of domestic violence;
• tactics used by perpetrators including spiritual abuse and misuse of scripture to maintain coercive control;
• the impact of domestic or family violence on children;
• challenges for victims including potential theological blockages to reporting abuse
These training days will be facilitated by Ann Herbert and generously funded by Anglican Health and Welfare.
**Please note - this is not a workshop for someone who is currently in a Family Violence situation.
