Calling musicians of all genres, ages, skill levels and backgrounds:
Lift the spirits of your neighbors throughout Kansas with song!

This last year has been a tough one for all of us, and we've come this far by banding together and caring about each other. We've also seen so many musicians create musical videos, both humble and extravagant, that express their feelings about the pandemic and how it has touched us all.

We want to share your original inspiring pandemic song videos with our huge social media audience, and thanks to a Kansas Beats The Virus grant from Kansas Leadership Center, four acts chosen by our team will each receive $500. June 4-6 the public will choose via the Wichita River Festival Facebook page which of the four acts will perform their song at an upcoming Riverfest event! Enter by May 1, 2021!

Rules:
1. Each act may enter one song. A solo artist may submit a solo song and also be part of one band that submits a song.
2. All songs must be submitted on video by 11:59 p.m., Saturday, May 1.
3. The song will be judged by the WFI team. Here's what we are looking for:
               a. Sincerity and originality
               b. An inspiring, upbeat and/or joyful message that tells the story of how our community is conquering the COVID-19 pandemic together.
4. Videos must be no longer than five minutes. Those exceeding five minutes will be disqualified.
5. Submissions to this contest must be created for an all-ages audience.
6. Videos MAY NOT be posted on social media prior to June 7 without express permission of Wichita Festivals, Inc. Failure to comply will result in automatic disqualification.
7. Video submissions and the songs presented must be the sole original work of the submitting artist(s).
8. Artists retain full rights to their song and video. WFI/Riverfest will share it on Facebook and other social media channels indefinitely and will not sell or directly profit from the artists song and video.
9. Four winning acts will each receive a total of $500, funded by Kansas Leadership Center's Kansas Beats The Virus Initiative.
10. A People Choice winner will be selected via the Wichita River Festival Facebook page June 4-6 and will be given the opportunity to play their winning piece live at an upcoming Riverfest event.
11. Musical artists from Kansas, or with a Kansas connection, are welcome to enter.
12. All ages are welcome to enter. Those under 18 required parental consent.
