We, the undersigned, in consideration of the rental of a music instrument to the student named below for the school year 2020-2021, agree to abide by the following stipulations:

We agree to maintain the instrument in good condition during the term of this contract by bringing to the attention of the school music director minor problems with the instrument that occur through normal usage.                                                               *

Musical instruments and school projects may be transported on the school bus only if they can be safely placed on student's lap, or in student's backpack, or regular-sized school bag. Due to safety issues resulting from transporting large instruments, the following musical instruments will not be permitted to be transported on school buses: cell, trombone, baritone, and French horn. Students must be able to lift and carry their instrument or project on and off the bus without assistance and without delaying the bus pick-up and drop-off process. Instruments and projects may not occupy a seat needed for another passenger and no part of it may obstruct the aisle. *

We agree to reimburse Arlington Public Schools for (a) the cost of repairing through the Arlington County Arts Education repair service, any damage to the instrument caused by negligence, misuse, or vandalism, or (b) or the cost of replacing the instrument in case of a lost instrument or total damage. *
