After looking through the Rollback Stress Test results you submitted (huge thank you to everyone who tried it out!) we determined that many of you were likely being limited by performance in your rollback online matches. For those of you who aren't aware, rollback requires the game state to be simulated multiple times per frame, which effectively means that it can be significantly more taxing than offline matches. To help improve things, we've spent the past few weeks (yeah this was a lot of work LOL) converting all of our official content from hscript to Haxe, which can be run natively by the engine. In our testing, this has resulted in
performance improvements of around 30%-50% on lower end machines, which more marginal improvements for people who were already running the game pretty well.
In order to see how things have changed, we'll need your help! Just like last time, please follow the instructions below to submit your survey.
1. Play at least one game on the new patch against 3 different opponents. Note the approximate average ping (don't worry if this isn't exact) and how well the match runs for each opponent.
2. Run the Rollback Stress Test, which can be found near the bottom of the Online menu. Make sure to read the onscreen description for more details. Once the test completes, screenshot or note down the results.
3. Complete the Rollback Stress Test Survey below.
