#3727 Targeted Improvement to Meet the Need of Diverse Learners
This series of three sessions is designed for school teams to explore special education data, reflect on current systems and practices, understand evidence-based practices, and consider systems development and refinement through a continuous improvement approach to support diverse learners. Specific objectives include:
- Identify key qualitative and quantitative data to identify performance challenges and root causes when addressing the growth and achievement of diverse learners.
- Develop a deep understanding of State Performance Plan (SPP) indicators (13) and their importance in shaping improvement and leadership efforts in the school environment.
- Understand how SPP data is calculated on an annual basis.
Identify key reflective questions for equity and systems level improvement in relation to special education
- Use key data findings to draft a plan for leadership teams to engage in the work of planning, improving, and monitoring the impact and effectiveness of special education systems, policies, and supports.
- Recognize the scope of work and conversations needed to change school culture to improve outcomes for all students.
- Consider quick wins and immediate next steps to address teacher and systems needs.

Team registration is highly recommended. Administrative participation on teams is strongly encouraged. Team work time will be built into each session with opportunities for follow up coaching & support between sessions from IESE Network staff.
