#ShiftingBorders: Challenge C

By the end of 1919, the former Towne of Portsmouth had grown tremendously, especially with the completion of five of the eight major annexations of land from surrounding areas. And, by 1968, in just over a century following its establishment as an independent city, the last three cycles of annexations occurred creating present-day Portsmouth as we know and love it!

Interestingly, of these eight annexations, the incorporation of most of Portsmouth's Historically Black Neighborhoods & Communities occurred between 1894 - 1948.

Park View, home to the historically black burial ground Oak Grove Cemetery was annexed in THIS YEAR__________; whereas neighborhoods like Historic Truxton, Lincoln Park, Brighton & Prentis Park were all a part of the annexations of THIS YEAR __________.
