2024-25 Howard and Sondra D. Bender Fellowship for Dance Movement Therapy
The Bender Fellowship Fund is used to award fellowships to outstanding students in the Dance/Movement Therapy Program who show both financial need and the promise of making a significant contribution to the field of dance/movement therapy. Bender fellowships are awarded annually, generally ranging between $500 and $2,000.

The number of recipients and specific amount of the fellowship(s) will be determined by the Dance/Movement Therapy Fellowship Committee. The Committee’s final decision will be based on the following criteria;
  1. the application for admission,
  2. the application for financial aid, and
  3. the candidate’s demonstrated academic/clinical ability in the Dance/Movement Therapy program during the first registered term of enrollment, and the amount of interest earned from the endowment.
Awards will made for the following academic year and applied directly to the student’s account.

Fellowship Criteria
  • The applicant must be matriculated into the Dance/Movement Therapy program.
  • The applicant must show promise in his/her/their field.
  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need.
