Volunteer with Sole Train 2022-2023
Sole Train, a program of Trinity Boston Connects, is a free community-building and mentoring program that uses running as a vehicle for setting and achieving seemingly impossible goals. As a supportive community of caring adults and peers, Sole Train champions young people as they realize their capacity for greatness.

Students (Young Soles), grades 5-8, and adult volunteers (Old Soles) at Boston area public schools and community centers practice at their site 1-2 times a week and participate in community building events and races, leading up to Sole Train’s culminating goal: Boston’s Run to Remember, a 5 mile or half marathon race, that takes place Memorial Day Weekend. We are a diverse, non-competitive, and inclusive running community.

Running experience is not required. In fact, some of our best volunteers are those who have little/no running experience.  We always say: you don't have to like running to love Sole Train!

You can support Sole Train in two ways:

1) Become a Sole Train Mentor (Old Sole)!
  Commitment:
- Mid-Sept through mid-June
- Attend 1hr practice/week (typically in the 3-5pm window) at a Boston school or community center (we'll work with you to find a site that works for you/your schedule.)
- Attend 4 races/community events throughout the season

As a mentor, you can increase access to opportunities for physical and emotional wellbeing in historically underserved communities throughout Boston.

Note: To mitigate complexity given Covid and BPS requirements, all non-BPS Old Soles will be asked to provide proof of Covid vaccination.

2) Run/walk or Volunteer at the Sole Train 5k!
   - Saturday, October 29, 2022
   - Franklin Park, Shattuck Picnic Grove

Come out for a great energy-packed fall day and support these mighty young people and one another by either running/walking or volunteering! You can do so here: www.soletrain5k.com
