The Sidney BIA has been working hard researching programs to help boost retail revenue for Sidney businesses. We are seeking your feedback for the introduction of a Sidney Gift Card program. Please take a moment to read program information below and indicate your interest.
What is it?
- The Downtown Gift Card program is a prepaid card that will be branded for Sidney for use at any participating Sidney businesses
- Gift cards will be purchased by customers from an e-commerce platform and sold in-person at the Sidney Visitor Centre and through participating partners
What are the Benefits?
- Increase in footsteps to Sidney’s business community
- Opportunity for members to be discovered by new customers as gift card recipients explore participating businesses
- Increased spending by gift card holders (on average gift card recipients spend 65% more than their gift cards value when using it in a business!)
- Downtown gift cards are underpinned by Visa; funds are received immediately by merchants and tech support and security are provided
- Extensive metrics are available allowing businesses to track how much additional revenue the program is bringing to your business
What is Required for Business Owners to Participate ?
- Accept the downtown gift card as a form of payment
- Provide a small amount of information for the e-commerce platform set up, and allowing a Sidney BIA staff member to stop by your business to install the program on your POS system (it just takes a few minutes)
- There are no costs for businesses to participate (apart from the usual rate that you have agreed with your bank to process a credit card transaction)
