Event Volunteer

Description: 

Event volunteers help set up, tear down, and table events in the community. Many of these events are outdoors in the summer, so be prepared with hydration and sun protection.  

Expectations: 

Help set up tents and tables, place swag or other items on the table, be welcoming and friendly, engage in conversation with folks who stop by the booth. Talk about current happenings at the WQRC, hand out flyers, stickers, or other swag.

Physical Requirements:

You will need to be able to lift 20-30lbs, set up a tent, table, and chairs. You may need to carry the table/tent/chairs from a parked vehicle to the location.

Welcome/Office Volunteer

Description: 

Welcome/Office volunteers work inside the Westside QRC office at the Hillsboro Downtown Hive. You will be available to help folks who come inside looking for resources. Share out information as needed (if someone walks in and wants to become a volunteer, pass along their info). 

Expectations:

Provide a welcoming and safe space for folks to walk into. Help people discover resources they may need. Talk about current happenings at the WQRC, offer snacks, crafts, talk about the lending library, do a coloring page.

Physical Requirements:

Much of this role is sitting in a comfy couch or chair in the WQRC office.

Programming Volunteer

Description: 

Programming volunteers host one-time or recurring events (programs) either in person or virtually. Programming volunteers are not paid for their time, but can request funding for class materials. 

Expectations: 

Offer a class or event that is inclusive. WQRC will promote your event, but you will need to provide information such as date, time, and content about your class or event.

Physical Requirements: 

This depends on the nature of the class.
