WHAT IS SUPERPOSITION TORONTO:
Superposition Toronto is a youth-led organization with the mission of bridging the gender gap in STEM by creating educational opportunities and supportive communities. Our approach is to actively bring girls into STEM by hosting panel discussions, hackathons, and workshops on a variety of different topics (i.e. AI, ML, blockchain, UX design, competitive programming) and in doing so, create a safe space where everyone feels that they truly belong. Since being founded in July 2020, we've reached 33K+ individuals in over 80 countries and 6 continents through our content, social media, workshops, and other initiatives.

PRESENTER BIO:
Dr. Brandy Kinkead is a Canadian nano-chemist, entrepreneur, and mom living in Calgary, AB. Originally from rural Manitoba, Brandy completed her B.Sc. at the University of Manitoba in 2009 and her Ph.D. at Simon Fraser University in 2014. Since then, Brandy has been in Calgary, AB bringing nanomaterials to new industries as a post-doctoral fellow in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary, the CEO of InnvTek/Kinkead Research and Development, and CTO of Nano-Lit Technologies. In addition to her passion for science and technology, Brandy has been working with the Green Party of Alberta as the Critic for Jobs, Economy, and Innovation since last year with a focus on policy development towards a sustainable future.

Superposition Toronto's free virtual workshops, panels, and events are open internationally to students of all ages and gender identities.
