Our times are busy, mobile and electronically connected. This new micro grant (up to $250 per applicant per school year) for Excellence in Education fits our times by capturing a teacher's impulse to extend their own learning, or that of their classroom; for example, in that brief excitement following a conference session, workshop, guest in class or assembly, or after a movie or finishing an amazing piece of writing. This type of grant has our fastest turn-around time, too!

Excellence, as defined by the Foundation for Excellence, includes materials, services, events, and enrichment that extends or goes above and beyond the existing or mandated topics and activities at the classroom, school building, or district-wide level. So proposals to replace materials, refill consumables, or matters tied to mandated subjects and lessons belong to the district’s budget, rather than the Foundations.
