Taking photos and videos of your child at school

Photos and videos of your child can be taken at school and shared on social media (without names) as well as in the press, school website, on school publicity etc. In addition photographs may be used as part of the school assessment system and shared with you as part of our reporting process.

Professional School Photographer

Twice a year they come into school. Once for individual photos and once for class photos. Please note EVERY child will have their professional individual photo taken (as they can only be purchased by you, are put on their school report as well as on our data system). With regard to class photos please select below. Please be mindful that if you choose for a professional class photo to be taken this will be purchased by other parents, we have no control over what they share on social media.

Clear selection

The options that you select will be used Please do not ask class teachers to make exceptions. For example, if you would like them to be included in trip photos but not anything else. To eliminate the risk of us using a photo we do not have permission for we always use the permissions on this form. We never add names with photos but the only exception is where a child has enjoyed a particular success parents sometimes email us with a photo and ask for their name to put put with it. For example, lovely to hear that Jane won BGT this year accompanied by a photo. Which we are happy to do with your permission if the need arises.

Examples: If you would like to look at examples of how we use photos/videos please look at our twitter feeds. You will also notice we do not allow comments on Instagram and we do not use Facebook at all - our school Facebook account is obsolete and directs parents to our twitter account instead which is our central communication system. NB: We currently use twitter as our main form of communication and link everything to there. For example, we use Instagram to host videos and then put a link in on twitter and we use flipsnack to make online books and put the link on twitter.

If you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to ask. Our aim is for you to only need to fill in this form once during your child's time at High Ham but occasionally we will need to change it to reflect any local policy changes and if that is the case we will update you.
