From a personal perspective automobiles are convenient, but from larger city-wide viewpoints cars cause traffic congestion, pollute the air, produce violent crashes, demand large parking lots, drive-thru windows, and even wider streets. One way to mitigate these impacts is to reduce single occupant vehicles and replace those trips with more carpooling/bus/transit/virtual meetings/online shopping/scooters/walking and bikes. Would you be willing to drive less to help mitigate these city-wide impacts?
