We're currently recruiting labs to deploy Polli as part of their plant-pollinator research in Summer '24.
We'll furnish 5+ cameras and supporting equipment for you to deploy at your study sites for the duration of your project. These will be 'fully managed' deployments-- you set up the cameras, and receive a database of observed plant-pollinator interactions (with rich metadata, ex. visitation duration) in Fall/Winter '24.
We're looking for labs that:
- Can provide 'qualitative' cross-validation. i.e. you are replicating with traditional methods, and we can validate Polli-generated data against your against your plant & pollinator IDs.
- Are interested in answering novel questions with dense, multivariate data. We want to help you produce something publishable!
- Want to be among the first with access to next-gen ecological tools.
- Are located in the US. We're looking to maximize the geographic spread of our pilots to ensure that we can validate Polli's algorithms across a variety of local ecosystems.
We only have a limited number of slots in our pilot program. Payment is not a hard requirement, but ability to pay a modest fee will factor into our project selection & how many cameras we can allocate to your project.
Deployments can be off-grid (we have devices with perpetual solar power), but some kind of internet connection is preferred so that I can remotely adjust cameras & monitor the deployment. We'll offer satellite links in the future, but I am looking to control cost & complexity this year.
