WHY: This year, new rules for providing transparent and consistent climate financial risk disclosure to prevent misleading claims by public companies and investment firms are set to be finalized. However, Koch-funded groups and their Republican allies have made plans to block these rules, which aim to provide standardized information for investors so they can mitigate climate financial risk. These groups are targeting stakeholder-driven sustainability and ESG investment practices, net-zero commitments, and proposals for standardizing public information on publicly-traded corporations’ climate risks. Hear from experts on union, pension fund, and climate financial risks, and ask questions.
