The McIntosh County School District is again seeking input on its American Rescue Plan. Please review the plan and respond to the short survey. School districts are required to spend at least 20% of their funds on closing learning gaps due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. McIntosh County School District has identified the following actions to enhance student learning, academic achievement, and close learning gaps. I would like to see the district continue to implement the following: (Please mark all that apply.) *

Provide summer school and intercession for students that need additional support

Provide meals to students during summer school

Hire additional paraprofessionals to work under the direct supervision of classroom teachers with small groups of students to provide academic interventions

Additional supplies and technology to support interventions

Provide fees for high school students to earn credits through GA Virtual School

As a measure to prevent and respond to the COVID-19 virus, I would like to see the district continue to implement the following measures: (Please mark all that apply.) *

Purchase additional sanitizing/cleaning supplies and PPE equipment (mask, gloves, etc.)

Enhance cleaning contract to ensure proper cleanliness of all classrooms and facilities to combat the Coronavirus

Improve air quality in school facilities by upgrading AC filters with ionization filters

Purchase Telehealth supplies to support diagnostic testing and evaluation for viruses to include COVID-19.

Purchase 2 new air-conditioned school buses to reduce the number of students on a bus to allow for social distancing

Funds for nurse salaries and benefits for all schools

Purchase nursing supplies to support healthy clinics and students

Provide teachers with trainings on effective classroom strategies to increase student achievement

Provide funds for teacher endorsements that would qualify teachers to teach specialized areas such as gifted, reading, EL/ESOL

Purchase band uniforms and instruments to support the middle and high school band students
