Artist's Introduction/

The blessings I am given by the surrounding natural environment of Taiwan are reflected in this workshop.  Because feel a great deal of blessings are sometimes overlooked.

I feel this workshop serves as a reminder to be inspired by new experiences and can underline the importance of "local production and consumption" in our daily lives to the audience.

Workshop is very simple but has deep meaningful. First  the collect leaf which you like first  with your inspiration.

and you use only your hands to create paper clone leaf while you study with your eyes.

I believe you may get the miracle of nature's blessings.

The idea behind AYUMI's artwork "Komorebi" is shared in this workshop.

The workshop begins with a look at nature and the "Komorebi" phenomena.

This phenomenon is exactly expressed as “Setsuna” by interaction of trees, wind, sunlight, time, and the environment.

The process of artwork is only painting the trajectory on paper by watercolor or black ink while interacting with the sun moving at a speed of 15 degrees per hour. Picking up color is an intuition.

After You try and practice Ayumi's creative process, let's create your unique approach of “Komorebi”.

You can get what happens in our natural world with  “Setsuna” and what is creativity too.

Note.

【Komorebi】

The English translation of "Komorebi" is “The sunlight filters through the trees”. It should not be forgotten that only Japanese language has the unique word "komorebi" that describes this phenomenon too.

In Buddhism, they use a Sanskrit word “ksana” to measure time, which is a tiny unit of time. Such a small amount of time that all kinds of things happen eludes our conscious awareness. And this amount of time is approximately one seventy-fifth of a second, i.e.

0.013s. In each 0.013 second (= ksana), “Born, Live, Die” loop cycles keep recurring in human consciousness. Setsuna is the Japanese pronunciation of Ksana.
