MERIT  Education Research Student Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in health professions education (HPE) research with the MERIT program.  To facilitate inquiries from students (e.g., undergraduate, medicine, health professions) interested in volunteering for an HPE project, we have developed this intake form.

To learn more about specific areas of research conducted by our scientists visit our website at https://merit.mcmaster.ca/about-us/staff-directory (under the Scientist tab).

Based on availability a MERIT scientist may contact you for more information.

PLEASE NOTE:
1 - WE ARE UNABLE TO GUARANTEE INCLUSION IN A PROJECT.  MERIT scientists value student contributions and want to encourage/support the next generation of scholars. However, the scope, timing and availability of projects will limit the availability of positions for student volunteers.
2 - Only students interested in volunteering should complete this form. This form is not for paid research assistant positions, which are advertised through MOSAIC. McMaster-affiliated students will be prioritized.
3 - Students may be required to complete preparatory training prior to starting on a project. Required training is at the discretion of the scientist. Examples of preparatory training may include the Health Professions Education Research modules Unit 1, 2, and 4. (See link:  https://www.macpfd.ca/hper-curriculum.)

The student volunteer database is monitored and updated on a monthly basis.
