Contest rules and details
Submissions will be accepted, below, through APRIL 21, 2019, 11:59 P.M. (CST)
On April 23rd we'll post all of the haikus to our Facebook page in a single post. Be on the lookout!
The public will have one week to vote on their favorites using the like button. They can vote for as many haikus as they wish, but can only vote on each poem one time.
Theodore Roosevelt Center employees are not involved in selecting the winner.
At the end of the week, the haiku with the most likes will receive a feature on social media and a Theodore Roosevelt Center tote bag filled with TR goodies!
Entries can be on any topic related to TR, including military, political, environmental or family life. No topic is off limits if it's related to Roosevelt!
Entries from all ages are encouraged! Submitters under the age of 18 should have a guardian's permission.
Submitters may enter more than one haiku.
Author's names will not be posted unless they win.
Submissions that do not follow the traditional haiku format will be disqualified. The first line should be 5 syllables, the second line 7 syllables, and the last line 5 syllables. The entry form provides separate sections to enter each line.
Submissions with profanity will be disqualified.
