Archery Club- Winter 2023
We are excited to announce that we will be offering archery again as sport option at Summit Charter School for 4th through 12th grade students! Archery is a sport that allows students of all abilities to participate and succeed while also building the traits necessary to work as a team. There are many benefits for students to become archers:
1) Student archers experience personal success and self-confidence through acquiring a skill, no matter their ability level. 2) Student archers feel the pride of being a contributing member of a team. 3) Student archers gain insights into the benefits of sportsmanship, ethics, and other soft skills necessary to succeed in post-secondary life. 4) Student archers experience the benefits of exposure to positive role models that nurture all of these attributes - that lead to success in other areas - including the relevance of classroom performance. 5) Student archers feel more connected to their school. 6) Student archers can earn scholarships for college! 7) Archery is SAFE and FUN! Our Archery Sports program will be a before school club. As you begin talking with your student about Fall club options, talk to them about their potential involvement with archery and the commitment it will take to be at practice by 7:00 am on club meeting mornings. I look forward to coaching new archers this year and taking our first-ever archery team to competitions this year! The skills our students will learn as archers combined with living our Seven Virtues will have our students "On Target for Life"!
