REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR BEGINNERS AND THOSE WITH SOME 'JAZZ' EXPERIENCE. THOSE WHO ARE PLAYING 'JAZZ' AT AN INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED LEVEL, PLEASE FOLLOW THE ONLINE AUDITION SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL BELOW.

Please complete and submit by May 5, 2019, to insure receiving a T-shirt. While this is a tuition-free program, there is a $30 Registration/Supply Fee to cover program administrative costs, program expenses, supplies and a 'custom' t-shirt. Please follow the directions at the end to submit payment no later than May 5, 2019. If you are mailing the fee, allow sufficient time for delivery to insure we receive payment no later than May 5th.

Registrations received after May 5th will only be considered if there is space. NOTE: Receiving a t-shirt will not be guaranteed for students registering after May 5th.

You will be notified by email of Level Placement no later than Friday, May 10th. The email will come from 'TucsonJazzMusicFDN@gmail.com' | Please add it to your 'contacts' to avoid our email landing in your spam or junk folder.

Level I ~  beginners in jazz or those with some experience >> meet Mondays & Wednesdays, 9 am - noon.

Level II ~ intermediate/advanced students >> meet Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9 am - noon.
You may attend both levels if you are a beginner on one instrument, and more advanced on another.
NOTE: Advanced students may assist the instructor for Level I. Please inquire about opportunities.

There will be a public presentation at the end of the session.The date, time and location to be determined closer to the event.

TRANSPORTATION
Classes will be held at the Pima Community College Center for the Arts, Drama Bldg, Room 53 (Band Room), West Campus, 2202 W Anklam Rd, Tucson AZ. It is just west of I10 & St. Mary's exit. St. Mary's turns into Anklam. The campus is located at the intersection of Anklam and Greasewood. The Center for the Arts is the tallest building on the east end of the campus.

Please let us know if you have transportation needs. We will do out best to provide you with information on carpool possibilities or share the public transportation options with you.

Intermediate/Advanced ONLY | AUDITION SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
IF YOU ARE AT THE INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED LEVEL: Please submit a short audition 'clip' to our Google Drive 'Girls Jazzin' It Up' Folder ~ https://bit.ly/2OOSSWm. You may need to be granted 'permission' to join/submit. We'll respond as quickly as possible.

Make sure you identify yourself at the beginning of the clip. State your name, age, and what school you attend. We will then be able to match your clip to this Registration Form.

Please perform the following in your primary instrument:
Level II (intermediate/advanced): Play (to the best of your ability) 6 major scales, 2 octaves; eighth notes at approximately 1/4 note = 120 bpm; 2 chorus solo on a blues (accompaniment optional)

If you play a 2nd instrument, do the same and indicate that it is your 2nd instrument.

MULTI-INSTRUMENTALISTS: You do have the option of attending both levels -- Monday through Thursday -- if you are more experienced (int/adv) on one instrument over the other.

ADVANCED STUDENTS: You may attend Level I as a class 'assistant' if you would like to help beginners. Please inquire about the possibilities. Would look great on a resume/college application.

If you are mailing it, send check or money order to: (payable to) Tucson Jazz Music FDN, PO Box 87736, Tucson AZ 85754. Allow sufficient time for mailing so it is received no later than Sunday, May 5, 2019. NOTE: Any bank fees we incur for 'insufficient funds' will be passed on to you.
