We are excited to announce the March 2022 Crisis Intervention Team Training School! The need for CIT has grown exponentially due to the pandemic and we need you on our Team! It costs $500 per attendee to host the school, but we can offer it at no cost to first responders because of your support! Help us have the best impact in teaching the 40+ hand-selected first-responders to safely and compassionately respond to those in mental health or cognitive crisis.

About the School:

The CIT Curriculum is delivered over a 40-hour week of intensive training provided by mental health professionals, advocates, and CIT trained law enforcement officers. The training consists of classroom lectures, site visits with consumers leading discussions, scenario based de-escalation skills training using role play exercises, and training in the use of assessment and evaluation tools.

Graduates of CIT School are awarded a pin identifying them as Certified CIT Officers. Where most pins worn by law enforcement professionals are used to let each other know their qualifications and experience, the CIT Pin is there for the consumers and their families. Seeing this pin lets you know you're dealing with an officer who "gets it" and will handle the crisis situation in the most compassionate and appropriate way possible.

Your sponsorships help:
 
1) provide materials for the school and officers, graduation supplies, CIT Pins, and other expenses associated with ongoing training for graduates
2) Provide breakfast and lunch where officers can engage and build relationships with providers
3) Sponsor graduates to attend conferences and advanced trainings to learn the latest techniques they will bring back to teach their fellow CIT members
