On Monday, April 11th at 1pm EST, your local baristas from 1304 Commonwealth Avenue and 277 Harvard Street will be gathering at the Brookline Booksmith (279 Harvard St. Brookline - Coolidge Corner) to hear the results of their union elections. The vote will be counted live by the NLRB via Zoom and will likely take around an hour and a half to complete. After the results are announced, we will hold a brief press conference. Light refreshments will be available throughout.

Our stores first petitioned to unionize on December 13, 2021 (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-12-14/starbucks-workers-push-to-unionize-in-boston-area-after-n-y-win). After pushing through a months-long anti-union campaign lead by Starbucks corporate and their anti-union law firm, we've finally made it to our vote (https://www.wgbh.org/news/local-news/2022/03/23/pro-union-baristas-in-the-boston-area-say-starbucks-is-forcing-them-out)! While we waited for our vote, we also helped a dozen other stores petition to unionize. (https://time.com/6148475/starbucks-union-organizers-gen-z/). The Starbucks Workers United movement has exponentially grown since the initial three stores in Buffalo, NY filed their petitions back in August 2021.
