2019 All-Gender Housing Form
Habonim Dror Camp Moshava is a safe space for children to learn and grow. We believe that a thriving community is one that acknowledges and embraces diverse identities -- age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, nationality, religion, physical ability and socioeconomic status. We are a community that explores the intersections of those identities, and encourages children to be their truest selves. Our programming seeks to appreciate the value that each camper brings to camp. Because of the individual, the community is stronger, because of the community, the individual is stronger.

At Moshava, we house campers according to gender identity and where they will feel most comfortable living at camp. In addition to single-gender housing options, we are happy to continue offering all gender housing to all campers in 2019!

What is All Gender Housing? All gender housing is a tzrif (cabin) or ohel (tent) that houses chanichimot (campers) from one shichva (division/unit) who identify as gender non-binary, genderqueer, agender, gender non-conforming, gender fluid, gender expansive, trans and cisgender allies.

Currently, in CampMinder (our registration software) there is no place to indicate if a camper would like to be housed by gender identity (as opposed to assigned gender) or to select all gender housing. In order to make inclusive housing options easily accessible to our campers, we have created the form below.  When we receive your form, we will contact you to follow up. In line with our privacy policies, personal information is kept confidential.

Everyone is welcome to complete the form and no one is required to. This form is an opportunity for campers of any age to share their housing needs when it comes to gender identity. Please keep in mind that we also house campers according to shichva (division/unit) and that there needs to be a minimum of 4 campers per living space in order to make it a viable option.

The approach of meeting campers where they are and housing campers according to gender identity at overnight camps, is the best practice in the camping industry today. It is also in-line with the Jewish value, shivyon erech ha'adam, respecting and valuing all people.

We are here to help! If you have any questions, concerns, ideas or would like support, please feel free to contact Jen Silber, our Executive Director at 301-348-7339 or jen@campmosh.org or Rosh Machaneh, Leah Schwartz at roshmosh2019@campmosh.org.
