Equality Michigan Action Network (EQMI Action) serves as Michigan’s premiere statewide
political advocacy organization. We are made up of passionate individuals who invest their
time and talents championing the rights of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender
(LGBTQ+) community. We work proactively to address the needs of our community
through policy advocacy, building political power, community empowerment, and
education. Our elected officials take the needs and concerns of their constituents to
Lansing with them, so it is our duty to make sure those we endorse will support equal
rights and legal protections for LGBTQ+ Michiganders and who are committed to the
advancement of these goals in their capacity as elected officials.

We endorse candidates that support protections and rights for individuals regardless of their
sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. EQMI Action is here to organize for
the political interests of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, and elect leaders who share our
values. We invite candidates who share our values to join our efforts and apply for
recognition as a Pro Equality Champion. EQMI Action uses this questionnaire to determine
who to recognize in the general election. For incumbent or former members
running for an elected office, we will also review voting records. Our endorsement list will be
available on our website at https://equalitymiaction.org and shared publicly.
