our residence halls, you will be part of a community. We encourage you to take advantage

with other on-campus residents. As a member of a community, you will be responsible for
observing community standards and rules, as they are outlined here and in university and
residence life policies. We ask that you respect the privacy of other residents, as we work
together to build a community that is safe, cohesive and accommodating.
Cumberland requires freshman students to live in a residence hall unless they receive
documented exemption from the Office of Residence Life. Students may petition for
exemption if s/he meets certain criteria. To complete the waiver, visit:

Attention Parents and Guardians -
Please have your student complete this application. You should not complete this
application as there is a 76.8% roommate change when someone other than the applicant
completes this form, compared to 9.8% when the applicant completes the form. Thank you

Included in this form, you will find your housing application, emergency contact
information, housing contract, and information about paying your housing deposit fees.
Application and fees must be received prior to assignments being made. The Housing
Contract represents an agreement between the university and the Student. As a part of
this agreement, Students commit themselves to recognize and respect those rules and
requirements created by Cumberland University to maintain a safe and healthy
environment for all residents. Housing Contracts must be accepted and signed by the
incoming student in order to be considered accepted.
Housing assignments are made based on the date your housing deposit is paid. Housing
assignments for fall semester will be available after July 15th. Assignments for incoming
spring semester students will be available after January 1st.
Priority Deadlines:
Fall Applicants - April 15th
Spring Applicants - November 15th.
