America House Chisinau is inviting young people to a workshop where they will learn creative letter writing.

The advent of modern means of communications has made letter writing a less popular activity.

Today, fewer and fewer people take the time to sit down and write letters. On the occasion of this unofficial American holiday, Letter Writing Day, America House aims to revive this long-forgotten art and encourage people to handwrite letters!

During the workshop, the participants will get to read extracts of Hemingway’s letters, John Steinbeck’s letters, extracts of the correspondence between Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O’Keeffe, Vladimir Nabokov, Edmund Wilson, and other famous Americans.

You will learn the general rules, the structure, and the principles of letter writing. By the end of the workshop, all the participants will have a handwritten letter ready to be sent to a special person in their lives!

The trainer at this workshop is Margareta Calugher - Program manager at America House Chișinău.

The workshop will be in English and the participants will be provided with paper and writing equipment!
