Did you ever wonder if it is possible to catch up with all of the fads, tips, tricks, styles and trends going on in education? Have you ever sat in the faculty lounge or overheard conversation in the hallway and have no idea what people are referring to?
The landscape of education is constantly changing, and it is our professional responsibility to keep abreast of the changes. These evolving topics include everything from educational technology to social media, from culture to education law. If you recognize the importance of remaining current in the landscape and lingo of education, this course will guide you through it. We will examine national issues all the way down to district and grade level issues.
Participants will have the opportunity to select and examine trends which will directly affect their own building, hallway and classroom.
Participants will:
discuss and explore current national and local issues with educators from other buildings/districts or areas.
take an active interest in news topics that directly affect them
review areas/topics that will impact their future and that of their students
learn different ways of presenting, sharing and learning information
gain a better appreciation of the evolving landscape of education.
