2022/23 - Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program Application
Program Description:
The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) seeks to cultivate research partnerships between SJSU faculty and undergraduate students who are first-time frosh and transfers, and 2nd year students. UROP aims to integrate students into university life academically and socially and providing students with structured support from peers, mentors, and faculty. Students who participate in UROP will have the opportunity to work directly with SJSU faculty on their research and scholarly projects.

Application Info and Program Commitments:
This application is intended for students interested in participating in UROP for the 2022 - 2023 academic year. Students MUST BE in their first year in college, first year as a transfer to SJSU, or 2nd year in college.
The commitment to this program runs the entire academic year (fall/spring semesters). The following are expected from each student admitted into the program:
- Register for EDLD 10: Talking Back to Research: Critical Skills for Leaders (3 credits) in the Fall semester
and EDLD 151 (3 credits) in the Spring semester (No exceptions will be made. Students who are unable to
register for the course cannot join UROP at this time)
- Attend individual or small group meetings with your assigned peer mentor 1-2 times each month
- Present your research at the end of the year research symposium
