What type of setting roleplay setting do you enjoy most? (Choose your top 2)

High Fantasy - Fireball throwing Wizards, Swords & Sorcery - Examples: Dungeon & Dragons, Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time

Low Fantasy - Mud, blood and strife on a human scale. Little magic and few Gods. Examples : Game of Thrones, Warhammer Fantasy

Ancient World Fantasy - the Gods walk among us, and great trials in the iron age. Empire Clash with chariots, huge beasts lurk in the wild places. Examples : European Myths and Legends, Jason and the Argonauts, Assassin's Creed Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla

Wholesome Fantasy - Low stakes adventuring in another world - probably as animals. Examples: Redwall, Humblewood, Mausritter

Steampunk / Gaslight Fantasy / Gothic Horror - Historical or Victorian UK (or it looks like it), you either criminals or investigators and there may be unknowable terrors and fantastical technologies. Examples: 80 Days, Blades in the Dark, Teeth, Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, Dishonored

Cosmic Horror - Set in 1920s - 1960s. Sanity is precious resource as you face horrors from beyond. Investigators in name, but it's mainly running. Examples : Arkham Horror, Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green

Contemporary / Urban Fantasy - It's our world and time (80s up to now) but with a supernatural twist. You might be kids with bikes or a member of the Vampire Illuminati. Secret Government Labs - Psychic powers - Big Robots on the horizon. Examples: Stranger Things, Tales from the Loop, Vampire: The Masquerade

Thriller - 1950s up to present day. Criminal Organisations, International Spies, Economic and Political intrigue. Examples: Fargo, 007, Bourne, Line of Duty, The West Wing

Western - 1850-1915 in mid-West US (or it looks like it) but it could be anywhere, even space. Guns, horses, deserts and campfires. Prospectors and settlers. Criminals and Bounty Hunters. Examples: Red Dead Redemption, Firefly, Fistful of Dollars, The Mandalorian.
