Welcome and thank you for signing up your child(ren) into the Confirmation Program (FORMERLY KNOWN AS EDGE) here at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Turlock!

Our 2 year program is dedicated to provide faith formation to middle schoolers in preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a journey. Our 2 year program accompanies the candidates on this journey while making this journey worthwhile! Confirmation is not graduation; it is not 'the end,' but the continuation of our journey toward heaven that began at Baptism. We will change through this process and hopefully become saints in training when we reach the end of this program.

Confirmation Program Expectations
1.  Your child's faith formation must be a top priority for your family.  There will not be absence exceptions for sports, recreational and competitive activities. (Some families will be contacted this summer to interview with Anna regarding sports and other commitments which may hinder faith formation this year)
2. Confirmation classes for 1st Year Candidates will take place every Tuesday time TBA (Unless indicated otherwise on the pending 2023-2024 Confirmation Calendar)
3. More than 4 absences per year will be monitored. Confirmation Candidates are required to attend scheduled retreats that cannot be made up. Exceeding 4 absences and/or the retreats may result in not moving forward in the program or no reception of Confirmation due to a lack of preparation.

Parish Hours REQUIREMENT
ALL CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES (1st & 2nd Year) are REQUIRED to complete 10 Hours of service at Parish events & 10 Hours of prayer devotion at the Parish. Upon registration, Anna will email you the Parish Hours form for your child(ren) to begin service hours for the Program Year. Parish Hours must be completed at OLA (Unless given permission ahead of time from Anna). Parish Hours will be DUE on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Failure to complete Parish Hours will result in the consequence of not receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.

 By submitting this registration form it is acknowledged that this requirement is understood and the candidate that is being registered has understood this requirement.
2nd Years Baptism Certificate
If your child is going to be a 2nd year candidate this fall AND he/she was baptized at a different Parish (not OLA), it is required that you include WITH your payment a COPY of your child's Baptism Certificate.
Confirmation Registration Payment
Please make sure that program fee is submitted within a week:
$100 per candidate
Please have exact cash or check written to Our Lady of the Assumption (Memo: Confirmation - Child's name)

Drop off money in an envelope with the following on it:
Confirmation
Child's Name (First and Last Name)
Date of submitted registration

You can drop off the payment at the OLA Office, in the Sunday collection,
