GSA early career mentoring program application

We are seeking expressions of interest from members who have completed their PhD within the past 7 years (career interruptions will be taken into account) and who wish to participate in our 2024 round of the GSA Early Career Mentoring Program.

This program aims to match participants with mentors in a bespoke manner, creating new connections between ECRs and more established genetics researchers in AustralAsia. We will offer the opportunity for participants to network with each other and we will facilitate panel discussions about strategies for building careers in genetics.

Programming will be supported though to mid 2025 and we expect the minimum time commitment from mentors will be approximately one hour per month on average, scheduled at the mutual convenience of mentees/mentors. We will hold one-hour panel discussions bi-monthly for mentees on topics of interest.

If you would like to submit an expression of interest, please complete the below by midnight (AEDT) on Tuesday 30 April 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by mid May.

We recommend that you prepare your answers in a word processor, and then paste them into the dialog boxes below.

Note: you will not be automatically sent a copy of your application. Please contact Anna Santure (a.santure@auckland.ac.nz) if you would like a copy.
