Workshop Descriptions
"Power and Persuasion" Taught by guest artist: Tom Davey. This amazing Shakespeare workshop will explore the themes of Power and Persuasion.

"Dance" taught by Ms. Lori: Students will create a piece to perform in the show that night!

"Directing" taught by Mr. Bengford: Students will take a look at what it is to be a director.  Basic Scene Study, preliminary Text Analysis will be covered as well as a discussion on how to inspire your actors.  NOTE: some members of the workshop will perform while others will direct  - but we can all learn from each other.

"Song Interpretation" taught by Mr. Burkhead: The Vocal Audition Workshop is a collaborative endeavor where we will experience your 32 bar cut of an audition solo, provide feedback and vocal technique as well as explore some potential acting choices.  This is non-competitive and designed to help you become a stronger candidate for the roles you want.

"Set Design" taught by Mr. Meeker: Learn techniques for how to design a set.

"Model Making" taught by Mr. Yani: Learn how to make a model of a sample set piece. Class will discuss working in scale, templates, scoring, cutting, poking, materials, as well as tools such as architect rulers, xacto knives, and hot glue guns through the process of hands on building. NOTE: It is not required to take Set Design in order to take this class.

"You wanna fight about it?" Learn the mechanics and artistry behind unarmed stage combat with Ms. Sorkin. Acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to execute basic fight techniques safely and effectively on stage. This workshop will focus on acting and intention, safety, and controlled maneuvers. No experience is necessary; however, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and clothing you can move comfortably in.

"Improvisation" taught by Ms. Griswold: Students will play Improvisation Theatre Games and hopefully discover some new ideas to bring back to their respective schools.
