Register for reading club! This seminar-style course functions as a small-group discussion led by a member of our team. Students will be able to discuss major themes within the book, how the narrator develops characters throughout the book, and how to think critically about the author's work.
Meeting Times:
TWO SECTIONS (both cover the same materials, just different times for more accessibility)
Mondays 4:00 PM EST - 4:45 PM EST for a total of 16 classes from 1/23/2023 - 5/22/2023 (no class 2/20/2023, 4/17/2023)
Thursdays 8:30 PM EST - 9:15 PM EST for a total of 16 classes from 1/19/2023 - 5/18/2023 (no class 2/23/2023, 4/20/2023)
About the instructors:
Monday Reading Club is led by Vera Jacobson, a junior at Boston Latin School. Vera is an avid reader and loves to discover interesting books from a variety of genres and authors. Her favourite book is Pride and Prejudice. Through her reading she has also found a great appreciation for quality writing and enjoys English class immensely. Nothing beats finding the perfect work that encapsulates what you want to say in an essay!
Thursday Reading Club is led by Terence Xie, a senior at Boston Latin School. He has an extensive background in both reading and writing, having taken both AP English Language and Composition in addition to AP English Literature and Composition.
Class Capacity:
Reading club will be capped at 6 students per section(6:1 student/teacher ratio) to ensure the quality of our lessons. A full refund will be issued if you have registered after the capacity has been reached.
