“Lynching, Rhetoric, & American Identity” Lecture Registration
DePaul University's WRD department excitedly welcomes Dr. Ersula Ore from Arizona State University on Monday, November 9 at 4:30 pm. Dr. Ore will present a short lecture entitled “Lynching, Rhetoric, & American Identity,” followed by an expansive question-and-answer session based on topics explored in her award winning book Lynching: Violence, Rhetoric, and American Identity (University of Mississippi Press, 2019).

In Dr. Ore's words, her lecture will "offer an analysis of lynching as violent rhetorical action, this talk explores the constitutive and epideictic power of American lynching to demonstrate its ongoing role in the rhetorical construction of ’the people’ and the nation."
