Announcing...Campbell County Public Library System’s Summer Reading Program for 2024: Adventure Begins At Your Library! Summer Reading is our most highly anticipated annual tradition - promoting literacy and a love of lifelong learning for children, teens, and adults. For the past two summers, our community read over 1 MILLION MINUTES!
To make this program a reality for our patrons, we count on your support! We are seeking donations to help us with the cost of programming and materials. We will also gladly accept contributions of prizes (valued at $20-50+), gift cards, and vouchers for prize drawings.
Our patrons are also your customers and clients. We serve citizens at four locations in the county: Rustburg, Brookneal, Altavista, and Timbrook. The past few years have been challenging for many, spurring the library to support our community even more. Library activities, like Summer Reading, are free and open to all.
Our generous donors are marketed to our patrons through:
12,000 event guides - professionally printed and distributed across Campbell County
Campbell County Public Schools - Summer Reading materials are offered to local schools
Advertising & Public Relations - social media and print marketing campaigns to 4,000+ followers
Kick-Off - events at each library in early June
Community Events - programs for all ages throughout the summer
Grand Finale - our annual street fair which attracted 1,000+ attendees in 2023
